Staged at the home of the Cleveland Indians, “The World Series of Rock” was a summer concert series that featured multi-act line-ups with one exception – this June 1977 Pink Floyd show. The British quartet were then touring in support of ANIMALS, and launched the show with five songs from that album (along with some spectacular prop pigs and sheep) before a set drawn from WISH YOU WERE HERE and an encore of “Money” and “Us And Them” from DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. This tour had an “us vs. them” effect on Roger Waters, whose alienation from rowdy stadium crowds would reach a peak a couple of weeks down the road (and later help inspire THE WALL), but on this particular Saturday, the the band and 83,000+ fans all seemed to be having a great time.
