Faith No More
With a unique fusion of alternative rock, metal and funk (and a touch of humor), Faith No More sounded like nobody else. THE REAL THING was the band's third album, but the first to feature the line-up of Mike Bordin (drums), Roddy Bottum (keyboards), Bill Gould (bass), Jim Martin (guitars) and Mike Patton (vocals) – and the third time proved the charm. The diverse 1989 collection peaked at #11 on the Billboard chart and was certified Platinum, spawning the singles "From Out Of Nowhere" and "Falling To Pieces," as well as "Epic," which was ubiquitous on radio and MTV. Mike Bordin was born on this day in 1962, and we'll celebrate the birthday with another spin of the Grammy-nominated THE REAL THING.
