Born in England as Amanda Louisa Gosein-Cameron, Amanda Ghost released her first album, GHOST STORIES, in 2000. Sitting somewhere between alternative rock and electronica, the Warner Bros. collection is tough to pigeonhole and equally tough to forget; Ghost's rough-hewn vocals give each of these ten originals an emotional resonance as they shift between hope and resignation. “Filthy Mind” and “Idol” were both hits on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart and, like all of these tracks, they have enough going on lyrically to engage listeners long after they've left the dancefloor. Amanda Ghost penned smashes for such artists as James Blunt, Beyoncé and Shakira in the years following GHOST STORIES, but that distinctive debut shows she has the goods as a performer as well as a songwriter.
