Thanks to the inventive use of the song in the show, Bush's "Running Up That Hill" has seen an unprecedented chart resurgence, soaring all the way to #1 on the UK Singles chart, giving the artist her chart-topper in England since her debut single, "Wuthering Heights," in 1978. In America, the increased streams have sent the song into the top 5 on the Hot 100 for two weeks in a row.
"I’m overwhelmed by the scale of affection and support the song is receiving and it’s all happening really fast, as if it’s being driven along by a kind of elemental force," Bush shared in her most recent statement regarding the resurgence of the 1985 single. "I have to admit I feel really moved by it all. Thank you so very much for making the song a No 1 in such an unexpected way."
