In Lyrics & Prose, Ocasek collects his poetry alongside lyrics from The Cars' self-titled 1978 debut album through 2011's Move Like This, as well as his six solo albums—punctuated throughout by the artist's early handwritten notes, set lists, doodles and photographs. Ocasek has enjoyed a storied career spanning his work with The Cars and as a solo artist, publishing poetry in Granta and elsewhere, and producing albums by musical artists such as Weezer, Bad Brains, Hole, Guided By Voices, and Jonathan Richman.
