The ARETHA FRANKLIN Cover Song Contest

Can you sang? Sure, lots of people can sing. But only those precious few can truly sang. Case in point: the one and only Queen of Soul, Miss Aretha Franklin.

Cover Nation provides fans with a platform to share their renditions of pop hits and now they've teamed up with Aretha Franklin's team to celebrate the release of her new biopic RESPECT with a cover contest! Entrants will have the chance to win a $1000 Amazon gift card (or local country equivalent) and the career-spanning Aretha Boxed Set!

The rules are as simple as it gets: Create a full length cover video of any Aretha Franklin song and upload it to YouTube or any social media platform within the contest entry dates (Tuesday, August 17, 2021 - Tuesday, September 28, 2021) as long as the URL is open and allows anyone to view. Submit your entry with the contest form link below by Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:59pm EST. Tag your video description with #covernationarethafranklincontest

The contest winner will be selected on or about Tuesday October 19, 2021! The artists and Cover Nation will select the winning entrant. The contest winner will be announced publicly on or about Tuesday, November 23, 2021 via a "Best of Contest" compilation video hosted on the Cover Nation YouTube channel. 

Entries will be judged based on the following judging criteria: (i) vocal performance (50%); (ii) originality of rendition (25%); and (iii) audio and visual production (25%). Official rules are here.
