Something for the Weekend: Mumford & Sons Offer Up a Led Zeppelin Playlist
For the last few weeks, we’ve been asking various individuals to select their perfect Led Zeppelin playlist, and the time has come for another one to your favorite streaming service.
This time, the Zeppelin fan in question is Ted Dwane of Mumford & Sons, who provided a 10-track compilation which dips into both studio and live albums to offer his picks for John Paul Jones’ greatest bass moments…and if you don’t agree with him, hey, you can make your own!
CREATE YOUR ULTIMATE LED ZEPPELIN PLAYLIST
(By the way, this means you, too, JPJ!)
If you want to avoid popping over to Spotify until you’re actually prepared to hit “play” and listen, here’s what Dwane picked:
- “The Lemon Song” (LED ZEPPELIN II)
- “In My Time of Dying” (CELEBRATION DAY)
- “That’s the Way” (HOW THE WEST WAS WON)
- “Achilles Last Stand” (PRESENCE)
- “Bron-Y-Aur Stomp” (HOW THE WEST WAS WON)
- “Celebration Day” (LED ZEPPELIN III)
- “Heartbreaker” (MOTHERSHIP)
- “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” (MOTHERSHIP)
- “Black Dog” (LED ZEPPELIN IV)
- “The Song Remains the Same” (MOTHERSHIP)
Give it a spin when you get a chance, because it holds together pretty darned well!
