You know you’re one of the biggest bands in America when an episode of Friends revolves around a few of the characters going to one of your concerts, but the success of Hootie and the Blowfish was even bigger than that: Monica actually made out with one of the band members.

You remember, right? When Monica is busted for having a hickey, she admits, “That would be the work of a Blowfish.”

It’s been 25 years since Hootie and the Blowfish blew the roof off the Billboard charts with their debut album, CRACKED REAR VIEW, and to celebrate the occasion, Rhino is releasing two new versions of the album: the 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition and a 2-CD Expanded Edition.

The 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition is a 3-CD/DVD set which includes a newly remastered version of the album, a plethora of rare and unreleased studio and live recordings, and a DVD which includes surround sound mixes, the original music videos from the album, and more. Plus, if you’re a reader, then you’ll enjoy the liner notes by Tim Sommer, a.k.a. the man who signed them to Atlantic Records in the first place.
