Now Available: AbFab Soundtrack
For several years now, Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley have vowed that they’d be bringing back their comedically alcoholic characters Edina and Patsy for a full-length Absolutely Fabulous feature film, but as time passed, fans of the Britcom began to wonder if it was ever going to happen. At last, however, the wait is over: Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is now in theaters, and – appropriately enough – its soundtrack is also now available digitally.
First things first: if you’re an AbFab fan, then you’re well familiar with its longtime theme song, “This Wheel’s on Fire,” so you’ll want to prepare yourself for a new version that’s been recorded for the film by none other than Kylie Minogue. Ms. Minogue is far from the only big name to be found on the soundtrack, however. You’ll also find tracks from Leonard Cohen, Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, Francois Hardy, Eartha Kitt, La Roux, Santigold, Nancy Sinatra, and many others. Plus, you’ll be treated to live cast performances of songs that you can find in the film, thereby keeping your memories – and the laughs – fresh in your mind.
