New This Week: Supergrass

Earlier this year, we reissued Supergrass's debut album, I Should Coco, on 180-gram vinyl, referring to it as “an exuberant pop album” and giddily describing it as “one of the true gems of the Britpop era.” We stand by both of those descriptions, as most anyone would if they've heard songs like “Alright,” “Lenny,” “Mansize Rooster,” and “Caught by the Fuzz,” which is why we're so excited to announce that we are celebrating the occasion of the album's 20th anniversary by expanding I Should Coco into a three-disc set.

First up, unsurprisingly, is Disc 1, which features a newly remastered version of the original album, so you can expect it to sound better than ever.

Disc 2 kicks off with all of the B-sides of all of the album's singles, along with “Stone Free” and “I Believe in Love,” which you may recall from its appearance on the B-side of this year's Record Store Day release of “Sofa (Of My Lethargy)” on 7” green vinyl. After all of these tracks have been doled out, you'll get all of the tracks on the original album, except it'll be alternative versions, some of which are the original home demos of the songs.

Lastly, Disc 3 offers two live performances by the band: 10 tracks recorded live at Bath Moles on October 28, 1994, and 14 tracks recorded live at La Route Du Rock, Saint Malo, France on August 19, 1995. Bassist Mick Quinn has described them as both fascinating and hilarious, and that's a fair assessment. (Truly, the Bath Moles performances must be heard to be fully appreciated.)
