A Birthday Proclamation: The Reid Brothers Were Born Today

Today we celebrate the birthday – sorry, make that birthdays – of Charlie and Craig Reid, the twin brothers otherwise known as The Proclaimers. You’ll remember them, of course, for their belated hit single, “(I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles,” which turned into a smash well after its original release, thanks to its inclusion on the soundtrack to Benny & Joon. They had several other hits as well, and while they weren’t necessarily smashes on the level of the previously-cited single (some of them didn’t even chart in the U.S.), they’re still worthy of remembrance.
