The Corrs
The Corrs - sisters Andrea, Sharon and Caroline and brother Jim – are among the most popular family acts in Irish history. Though the quartet began their rise to fame in the mid-1990s, it was their second album, TALK ON CORNERS, that really kicked their career into overdrive. With a team of talented producers (including David Foster and Glen Ballard) adding a radio-friendly sheen to The Corrs' harmony-rich blend of Celtic and pop/rock musics, the collection couldn't miss; it topped the U.K. chart on this day in 1998, and would become the best-selling album of that year in England. With several terrific originals (“I Never Loved You Anyway,” “What Can I Do”) and a couple of fine covers (Fleetwood Mac's “Dreams,” Jimi Hendrix's “Little Wing”), TALK ON CORNERS will have you singing The Corrs' praises.
