Album of the Day
Sailin’ Shoes DELUXE EDITION
Released in 1972, SAILIN’ SHOES was the second studio set from Little Feat’s founding foursome of singer-guitarist Lowell George, drummer Richard Hayward, keyboard player Bill Payne and bassist Roy Estrada. Ted Templeman produced the record, which was the first to feature artwork by illustrator Neon Park, who created covers for nearly all of the band’s albums. The Warner Bros. collection features some of George's best-loved songs, including “Easy To Slip,” “Tripe Face Boogie,” “Teenage Nervous Breakdown” and truck-driving anthem “Willin'.” Coming in June, the 2-CD SAILIN’ SHOES (DELUXE EDITION) adds several outtakes from the album’s recording sessions as well as a previously unreleased Los Angeles show from August, 1971 - the only multi-track recording to feature the original lineup of the group.
