Album of the Day
INFINITY WITHIN
Deee-Lite followed up their hit debut with 1992's INFINITY WITHIN, a set titled to balance out the previous album's focus on looking outward and thinking about unity. “If you look outward, you should look inward to see what you’re doing as an individual,” explained vocalist Lady Kier Kirby. “Because people seem to be so passive - I’d like to see people turn their TV sets off and start protesting.” Songs promoting environmentalism, voting and safe sex are peppered with the trio's de-lightful house beats, hooks and samples (along with guest appearances from the likes of Bootsy Collins and Arrested Development), and single “Runaway” was a Billboard Dance chart-topper. We're proud to kick off Pride Month with the righteous grooves of INFINITY WITHIN.
