Graham Central Station
Larry Graham came to prominence as the bassist for Sly and the Family Stone before forming his own group and signing with Warner Bros. Records. Co-produced by Russ Titelman, GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION arrived in early 1974 and will put funk fans on cloud nine. The grooves remain strong from start to finish on such tracks as “Hair,” “Tell Me What It Is” and Top 10 R&B hit “Can You Handle It?” Beyond the propulsive rhythms, the hooks and melodies here ensure broader appeal; the collection made Billboard’s Pop chart as well as its Soul listing. As part of Rhino’s QUADIO series, GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION now sounds better than ever with blu-ray audio.
