Album of the Day
CHRISTINE MCVIE
Born on this day in 1943, Christine McVie was an integral part of Fleetwood Mac's classic lineup, but she recorded some wonderful music of her own as well. Released in the aftermath of MIRAGE, McVie's self-titled 1984 collection was her first solo set in more than a decade and puts the performer's appealing vocals and knack for melody to good use on ten tracks (most co-written by her guitarist Todd Sharp) including Top 40 hits “Got a Hold on Me” and “Love Will Show Us How.” Along with a couple of her Mac mates, Christine is joined by such guests as Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton on the Russ Titelman-produced Warner Bros. set. Of CHRISTINE MCVIE, the singer-songwriter said that “I wanted to be honest and please my own ears with it,” and it will please yours as well.
