The Cars

Following the massive success of The Cars' multi-Platinum debut, the quintet teamed up once again with producer Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, Journey) to record CANDY-O. The collection was released this month in 1979 and became a huge hit, peaking at #3 on the Billboard album chart and eventually earning quadruple-Platinum certification in the U.S. alone. The 11 tracks include such favorites as “It's All I Can Do,” “Dangerous Type” and “Let's Go,” which was the band's first Top 15 hit on the Billboard singles chart. Featuring cover art by legendary pin-up artist Alberto Vargas, CANDY-O showed The Cars remained miles ahead of the pack.
