LIVING IN THE PAST
By 1972, Jethro Tull had become stars on both sides of the Atlantic and to meet demand, Chrysalis Records issued the LIVING IN THE PAST compilation that year. Though it includes such classics as “Locomotive Breath” and the title track (the progressive rockers' first Top 40 hit in America), the double album isn't so much a best-of as a collection of odds and ends including non-LP single sides, outtakes and live recordings. Much of this material was then unavailable on the band's U.S. releases, and its consistent high quality testifies to Tull's many talents. LIVING IN THE PAST was a Gold-certified, Top 10 success and we'll give it another spin to wish original drummer Clive Bunker a happy birthday.
