The monster Max Steiner score to the 1933 epic that moviegoers go ape over! The CD’s first part, The Story Of King Kong, is a complete “radio-style” condensation of the film, complete with dialog, sound effects, and score. The disc’s second part, the “King Kong Music Suite,” gathers nine previously unreleased cues — all of the music that survives in isolated fashion. In addition, the accompanying booklet includes a detailed history of King Kong and Steiner’s score, producer Ray Faiola’s audio notes, and a tribute to Steiner by film-music composer Danny Elfman.
