On the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's web page for 1993 inductee Etta James, they write “Jerry Wexler, Atlantic Records' legendary producer, describes Etta James as 'the greatest of all modern blues singers...the undisputed Earth Mother.” Wexler produced this stellar 1978 LP for the legendary multiple-GRAMMY® winning vocalist, which spotlights her raw and sensual sound on stand-out tracks including soulful versions of “Only Women Bleed,” “Take It To The Limit,” “Piece Of My Heart” and the title track. A host of master players including Steve Cropper, Larry Carlton, Plas Johnson and Jeff Porcaro accompany James, and Jimmie Haskell's horn and string arrangement add further embellishment.
