LUNATell Me Do You Miss Me$19.99 DVD "...the film's melancholic vibe has such an undeniable gossamer beauty that it makes you sad to think that they're a thing of the past... A must-own for fans and mopesters in general." -- Filter In this documentary, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, the four members of the celebrated New York-based band confront the ceiling of their ambition, the harsh realities of their modest success, and their conflicted feelings about each other as they embark on their final world tour and their uncertain futures. DVD features include full performances of select songs, deleted scenes, and commentary by director Matthew Buzzell and band members. When they formed in 1992, Luna were a true indie-rock supergroup, boasting singer-guitarist Dean Wareham of Galaxie 500, former Chills bassist Justin Harwood, and ex-Feelies drummer Stanley Demeski, among others. With a heavy dose of dream pop, strategic reverb, and smartly minimalist songcraft, their 1992 Elektra debut, Lunapark, drew major acclaim, as did 1994's Bewitched, which features Velvet Underground guitarist Sterling Morrison on several tracks. Penthouse and Pup Tent followed, along with personnel changes and a 1999 shift to indie status, but the band's string of elegantly produced and sonically resonant albums continued.
