Charlie Gillett has been a London radio DJ for many years. At Capital Radio in 1983 he became the first UK DJ to focus on world music. He has a weekly show, Charlie Gillett’s World Of Music, on the BBC World Service. This two-disc collection, compiled by Gillett, gathers music from all over the world and includes such well-known artists as Gipsy Kings, Ry Cooder, Amadou & Mariam, Ali Farka Toure, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Cheb I Sabbah, and many more.
