 Dexterity/Rhino Entertainment sings praise of contemporary gospel legends The Clark Sisters with the first-ever compilation of classic songs from their '80s-era recordings for Word Records. Many of these triumphant tracks, featuring the Sisters' signature vocal glory, have been long out-of-print. Newly remastered, hits including “Balm In Gilead” and “Take Me Higher” sound more heavenly than ever.  

 ENCORE also builds on the Sisters' venerable legacy with a previously unreleased new song “Follow The Star,” spotlighting Dorinda Clark Cole singing lead with guest vocalists Bishop T.D. Jakes and Angie Winans chiming in. The disc also boasts a brand new version of the group's groundbreaking crossover hit, “You Brought The Sunshine,” featuring American Idol favorite Melinda Doolittle, and spoken-word commentary from Jacky Clark-Chisholm and Karen Clark Sheard reflecting on their Word Records years. 

 “You Brought The Sunshine” also radiates The Clark Sisters' soul-stirring vocal brilliance as part of a live medley that incorporates “Is My Living In Vain” and “Hallelujah” as well. The Sisters' 2007 reunion album, Live: One Last Time, was a two-time GRAMMY®winning Billboard #1 gospel album, and the accompanying tour ranks as one of the genre's most celebrated events in recent memory. 

 Hailing from Detroit, The Clark Sisters-Jacky, Twinkie, Dorinda and Karen (Denise left in the mid-'80s)-followed in the footsteps of their mother, the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, herself a gospel legend. During their three-decade career, they have become one of gospel's all-time pre-eminent female vocal groups, and have influenced a generation of singers ranging from R&B stars Mariah Carey and Faith Evans to gospel's Bryan Wilson and Smokie Norful.
