Queensrÿche's Video Interview
With Queensrÿche’s third album, Operation: Mindcrime, the Seattle quintet transcended the metal label assigned to the band and cemented its reputation for cerebral music and heady lyrical vision. Praised by critics upon its release in 1988, the concept album was soon certified platinum. This month the sequel to that classic album, Operation: Mindcrime II, arrives in stores. We sat down recently with Queensrÿche singer and chief songwriter Geoff Tate to talk about the new record, songwriting, music and technology, and performing with the band.

A word about submissions: We post what you give us, so please don't include your email address or any personal info. Your comments reach Rhino, not necessarily the writer, so don't expect a reply from them (or us, see our help section for contact info). I really like the new cd. I have been waiting for it to become available in my area. This area (Palm Springs) isnt big on Queensryche. I have had the cd about a week and have listened to it probably 20 times+, I have a cool job, I can listen to cds all day long. I have been a QR fan since Queen of the Ryche. So keep it up guys. Rozy
I really liked seeing and hearing the interview with Geoff Tate.
Link for windows media doesn't work...the hands video link from windowsmedia site doesn't work either
Great band - great vocalist! Also great insight into the new cd but Geoff needs to relax about "detuning" for christ's sake. Everyone hates a whiner!
Great interview. Need more of these.
Geoff Tate is a rock god. Enough said.
OM II is another masterpiece, not just by the band, but in the field of anything heavier than The Chipmunks. Geoff and the 'Ryche simply kick ass.
The album is great and Geoff's interview feeds the need. Now come to Michigan please!

I thought it was a great interview. I get to see the tour in 26 days!
Geoff Tate has always been my hero, my personal level in life mentor, {without even having to speak to him in person}his music, lyrics, draws you into every moment. I absolutely love his interviews because he is so highly intelligent, and speaks so fluent and so professional. I have only met him once, hopefully again on this tour,he is the voice of the people, and he is just so dang sexy,This cd is awesome, and I have to hand it to all the band members for a job well done. I want these 2 cd's put to a motion picture very soon. I want everybody to get out and see these tours live. You will walk away, blown away.Geoff really cares for his fans, and the whole band makes sure the people at the shows are getting what they paid for . You get so much more, because of the production, time it took to do all these scenes, etc... I bought 4 copiies of this cd, and have given a couple to our soldiers, whom really dig this cd. enough of my soap box. Geoff ~~~~~you are my inspiration. Queensryche & Ryche fans are the best!!! Fanclub member~~~~~~Terri
Mindcrime II ? - Friggin' Brilliant... nothing less. Gonna be 3 awesome nights in Seattle... Rocktober at the Moore!
Really great interview with GT, especially the bit about the inspiration for Promised Land.
I have been a fan for 20 years. I have seen Queensryche many times and they always put on a great show. They are one of the few bands that REALLY treats their fans great. Can't wait to see the Sept. show at Nokia and got fan club tix to the NJ show!
I love the new CD...I feel that it is amazing and the sound is great. The interview was really good and i think that Geoff should do more things like this. I cant wait to see the 2 concerts in New York and the one at the house of blues in Las Vegas. Geoff has an amazing voice and he the part of the Rock Legends in my heart. The whole band has an amazing gift. Keep it up guyz...Jen
just as I suspected,He speaks as well as he writes....that does not apply to 70% of singer/songwriters today
This was an awesome interview. I really like the new Queensryche CD and the interview provided valuable insight regarding the last Mindcrime and the transition to the new MindcrimeII. Thank you for making this available.
I enjoyed the interview by Geoff Tate. The album is brilliant! I was taken by the live OM performance and am looking forward to the live OMII performance on stage. I especially enjoy the final song-"All The Promises" - beautiful!
