I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Warren Zevon Anthology

"My brother first introduced me to Warren Zevon's music when I was in 9th grade and he was in 11th. In retrospect it is probably the most meaningful thing he has ever done for me. When Rhino released this spectacular anthology I was finally able to thank him properly. Warren Zevon, and this two-CD collection in particular, reminds me why I love music. The lyrics are clever and insightful, the music is rocking one moment and mellow the next, and the overall production is loose and fun. Just listen to 'The French Inhaler' and you will immediately appreciate the passion and intensity of Warren Zevon; or simply put on 'Werewolves of London' and enjoy his zanier side. Warren remains the number one person on my list of people who should be really, really famous. Listen to this anthology and I'm convinced you'll agree."

I agree with Mark Pinkus. Warren is the most under-appreciated artist I have ever witnessed. I saw him in concert four times and own every bit of music this genius produced. He is sorely missed by many and deserves to be listened to by many more. He is, by far, the most meaningful musician I know and always my favorite. I finally have my sister hooked after 10 years of trying!
Hunter S. Thompson did not call Warren Zevon "The Master" for nothing . . .

it made a change in my life at SIXTY THREE!!! HOW ABOUT THAT?

I wish Rhino or someone would release "Stand in the Fire," Warren's live album from the early 80s. I don't think it ever got the attention it deserved. Not sure if it even made it to CD.

Warren' preety cool for a dead guy, but if you really want to hear some ignored under-appreciated genius, you ought to pick up some "Crack The Sky" the best band no one's ever heard of.

Unpredictable thing, fame. It doesn't always get assigned to those most deserving. Warren was talented and it showed when he was sober. But I mostly want to echo the previous comment about John Palumbo and Crack the Sky...shoulda coulda woulda.

Please release "Stand In The Fire". It is one of the best live albums ever.

Stand in the Fire IS being released very soon--go to Warrenzevon.com
