Now Available: Fleetwood Mac, Tusk: Deluxe Edition

Many a casual Fleetwood Mac fan will, if asked to cite their favorite album by the band, instantly deliver a one-word answer without thinking: “Rumours.” This answer is not wrong, because…well, everybody's got their own opinion, right? You can, however, find a strong contingent within the band's fanbase that might just as quickly offer up a different one-word response-“Tusk”-and if you're one of the folks in that camp, then this may well be the happiest Friday you've had all year, because we've just released deluxe and expanded editions of that particular album.

What's the difference between the deluxe and expanded versions? As if we'd leave you in the dark about that: the deluxe edition is a 5-CD, 2-LP, 1-DVD set - yes, you read that right - and the expanded version is a 3-CD set. Oh, sure, there'll also be a single disc version featuring a remastered version of the original album, but let's focus on the most exciting stuff, shall we?

The five CDs of the deluxe edition include the remastered original album, an alternate version of the album created from session outtakes which are predominantly of the previously-unreleased variety, a collection of singles, demos, and remixes, and two discs of previously-unreleased live performances from the Tusk tour. The two LPs are, as you might have guessed, the original album. Lastly, the DVD features a 5.1 surround mix of Tusk, and the whole set comes packaged with a booklet featuring new interviews with all of the band members.

The three discs of the expanded version, meanwhile, will provide you with the original album, the newly-created outtake version of the album, and the singles, demos, and remixes. Sorry, live-material fans, but you'll have to suck it up and go deluxe if you want those last two CDs.
