Of the follow-up to her successful solo set DEBUT, Björk noted, "I'm definitely jumping off more cliffs this time," and the bold sound of POST certainly bears that out. Written after the Icelandic singer had relocated to London, the 1995 Elektra album reflects her growing ties to the city's club scene, with such production talent as Nellee Hooper, Tricky and Howie B helping shape the collection. The 11 tracks incorporate a gloriously eclectic range of styles (including alternative dance, trip-hop, industrial and even big band), always balancing the experimental with the accessible - singles "Army Of Me," "It's Oh So Quiet" and "Hyperballad" were all U.K. Top Ten hits. With songs that push emotional as well as sonic boundaries, POST is an album of discovery, and remains one of Björk's most thrilling.
